Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2010 – Ricardo Bomba (nicknamed “La Bomba”),
one of Springfield’s newest eligible bachelors and the
brainchild of Peggy Black of Orange, CT, will appear in the
“Million-Dollar Maybe” episode of The Simpsons airing
Sunday, Jan. 31 (8:00-8:30 PM ET/PT) on FOX. As the winner of
The Simpsons Character Contest, Black won the
unprecedented opportunity to have her character, Ricardo Bomba,
appear in a SIMPSONS episode. Additionally, Chris Martin of
Coldplay will make a guest voice appearance in the episode.
In this all-new episode, Homer (Dan Castellaneta) blows off a
date with MARGE (Julie Kavner) to buy a lottery ticket. When
Homer wins the million-dollar jackpot, he fears how Marge will
react when she finds out why he missed their date. Homer keeps
his newly inherited fortune a secret, and instead spoils his
family with “anonymous” gifts. But when BART (Nancy Cartwright)
finds out, he shows Homer how to have some fun with the money.
The pair purchase front-row seats at a Coldplay concert and find
themselves close enough to the stage to talk to band member
Chris Martin (guest-voicing as himself).
Chris Martin is the lead singer, guitarist and front man of the
Grammy-winning English alternative rock band Coldplay. To date,
Coldplay has released four chart-topping studio albums and sold
over 50 million records worldwide. Martin is also an outspoken
advocate of fair trade and supporter of Oxfam’s global campaign
to change the world trade rules. It is a cause that the entire
band supports, donating 10 percent of their profits to charity
each year.
Now the longest-running comedy in television history, The
Simpsons immediately struck a chord with viewers across the
country as it poked fun of itself and everything in its wake.
With its subversive humor and delightful wit, the series has
made an indelible imprint on American pop culture, and the
family members have become television icons.
The Simpsons is a Gracie Films Production in
association with 20th Century Fox Television. James L. Brooks,
Matt Groening, and Al Jean are the executive producers. Film
Roman, a Starz Media Company, is the animation house.
