NEW YORK (January 28, 2009) – Dow Jones & Company has been
recognized by the Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA) with two
2010 Codie Awards. For the second year in a row, Factiva.com, the leading
business news and information solution, won the Codie Award for Best Content
Aggregation Service and Dow Jones Investment Banker, a specialized
content/workflow solution introduced last fall, was named Best Online
Professional Financial Information Service.
“This recognition by the SIIA highlights our commitment to and significant
investment in the content, technologies and solutions that our customers rely
on,” said Scott Schulman, president for the Corporate Markets group, Dow Jones &
Company. “Despite this challenging economy, we continue to bring new and
innovative solutions to market that give our customers a competitive advantage,
and help them make better, more profitable decisions.”
Factiva.com was recognized for its ability to help professionals easily monitor
and understand the latest news, market trends, and business challenges relevant
to them. In the last year, Factiva.com has been enhanced with new features that
allow users to create more targeted searches and improve the efficiency of their
workflow. Its unrivaled content has also been expanded to include more than
28,000 leading sources from more than 157 countries, in 23 languages.
Dow Jones Investment Banker, a content/workflow solution that offers deep
intelligence to connect bankers to deals and deal makers, was acknowledged for
its integration flexibility. “Our new service delivers the best of Dow Jones –
news, exclusive opinion and analysis, research, data visualization, executive
connections – in a suite of customizable components designed for smooth
integration into the portals and applications essential to bankers and analysts
as they monitor events, companies and executives, provide advice and generate
deals,” said Joe Lanza, president of the Financial Markets group, Dow Jones &
Company. Dow Jones Investment Banker’s capabilities extend out of the office as
well, with a mobile interface that keeps bankers connected wherever they are.
The Codie Awards holds the distinction of being the only peer-recognition awards
program of its kind in the industry, providing a unique opportunity for
companies to earn the praise of their competitors. The Codie Awards program, now
in its 25th year, remains the standard-bearer for celebrating outstanding
achievement and vision in the information industry.
