Feb. 25, 2010 – Celebrated recording artists Wyclef Jean, Keri
Hilson, John Legend, Tamela Mann, Jill Scott, Carlos Santana and The Roots are
set to perform at the 41st NAACP Image Awards, broadcast live from Los Angeles’
historic Shrine Auditorium, Friday, Feb. 26 (8:00-10:00 PM ET live/PT
tape-delayed) on FOX.
In addition, Mary J. Blige, the cast of Glee (Kevin McHale, Amber
Riley, Dijon Talton and Jenna Ushkowitz), Nick Cannon, Selena Gomez, Maxwell,
Larenz Tate, Cicely Tyson and Gabrielle Union are scheduled to appear along with
previously announced participants Sandra Bullock, Gabourey Sidibe, Jamie Foxx,
Lenny Kravitz, Regina King, Taraji P. Henson, Myrlie Evers Williams, Adam
Rodriguez, Sherri Shepherd, Mo’Nique, Morgan Freeman, Alfre Woodard, Mariah
Carey, Mekhi Phifer and Tatyana Ali.
Hosted by Anika Noni Rose and Hill Harper and executive-produced by Vicangelo
Bulluck, the special celebrates the accomplishments of people of color working
in literature, music, television and film. Previously announced honorees include
Tyler Perry, who will receive the Chairman’s Award, and Wyclef Jean, who will
receive the Vanguard Award.
