NEW YORK July 13, 2010 – Rick Jaffe, Senior Vice
President & Executive Producer for Fox Sports Net’s national
production group and former Executive Sports Editor of the Los
Angeles Times, has been appointed to the newly created position
of Senior Vice President & Editor-In-Chief, FOX Sports
Interactive Media, effective immediately (FSIM). The
announcement was made today by Jeff Husvar, FSIM Executive Vice
President & General Manager.
As Editor-In-Chief, Mr. Jaffe oversees all news and editorial
operations for the FOX Sports digital network. The Network
captured 23.5 million unique visitors this past May, and
includes FOXSports on MSN, Scout, WhatIfSports and the FOX
regional sports network websites. Recently, FSIM strengthened
its content by adding Pulitzer Prize-winning automotive
columnist Dan Neal, Daily Variety’s media critic Brian Lowry as
a weekly contributor and NFL rules analyst Mike Pereira to an
already impressive roster of writers.

journalism and high quality digital programming,” said Mr.
Husvar.”
Ed Bunnell, FSIM’s Senior Vice President, Content & Programming,
continues to develop the division’s long-term content production
strategy. Under Mr. Bunnell’s direction, FOXSports.com added a
number of high-profile editorial contributors including
award-winning columnists Jason Whitlock, Mark Kriegel, Ken
Rosenthal and Lee Spencer. He also heads FOX Sports Digital
Entertainment, FSIM’s industry-leading digital video content
production/distribution unit. FSDE, commissioned in September
2009, creates programming exclusively for FOXSports.com on MSN.
FOXSports.com typically produces more than four hours of
exclusive Web video daily, including the acclaimed “Lunch with
Benefits” series, a weekday programming lineup of five mid-day
shows that evolves throughout the year, staying current with the
sports calendar.
“Ed’s creativity and understanding of how content is consumed on
digital platforms has been instrumental in creating unique
experiences for FOX Sports users, and now he can focus on
continued innovation for our millions of users,” added Mr.
Husvar.
Mr. Jaffe served in his previous position at FSN for the past
years 10 years, and has overseen such shows as the Final Score,
Pro Football Preview, the BCS Breakdown and BCS Ratings Shows,
The Baseball Report and FSN Across America. In addition, Mr.
Jaffe also worked at FOXSports.com as Executive Producer of the
site in 2000.
Prior to joining FOX, Rick was the Executive Sports Editor of
The Los Angeles Times from 1995 to 2000, where he supervised a
staff of 80 and was responsible for the day-to-day operation,
including the content, editing, design and layout of the
section. Jaffe’s work background also includes stops at the
Chicago Sun-Times, where he was Deputy Managing Editor for the
Sports, Photo and Graphics departments, The defunct National
Sports Daily, where he served as Deputy Managing Editor for the
nation’s first all sports daily newspaper and served as an
Assistant Sports Editor at the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the
Detroit News and Orlando Sentinel.
Mr. Jaffe was born and raised in Orlando and graduated from the
University of Central Florida in 1979 with a BA in Journalism.
He has lived in the Los Angeles area for the past fifteen years.
