Fox names Ann Calfas Executive Vice President, Labor Relations and Employment Litigation

Dean Ferris, Executive Vice President Labor Relations, Inks Two-Year Deal, Will Serve as Lead Negotiator in Upcoming Guild Talks

Los Angeles (July 19, 2010) – Fox has named Ann Calfas to the newly created position of Executive Vice President, Labor Relations and Employment Litigation. In creating this new position, Fox is consolidating two closely related areas that frequently work together and routinely address overlapping issues. The appointment was announced jointly by Greg Gelfan, Executive Vice President of Fox Filmed Entertainment, and Gary Roberts, Executive Vice President of Fox Group Legal. Calfas will report directly to both Gelfan and Roberts.

The Company also announced that after effectively serving Fox for 25 years, longtime labor relations veteran Dean Ferris, Fox Group’s Executive Vice President Labor Relations, will retire in spring, 2012. Mr. Ferris has signed a new, two-year deal which calls for him to serve as Fox’s lead negotiator in the upcoming guild negotiations, as well as in key Fox Television Stations labor matters.

Ms. Calfas, who will immediately assume responsibility for day-to-day operations of the department, returns to Fox having previously served for nearly 14 years as head of Fox’s employment law group, before departing in 2008.

“We are deeply grateful for the incredible work Dean has accomplished during his long tenure with the company, and are pleased he’s agreed to stay for another two years to provide continued leadership and ensure a smooth passing of the torch,” said Gelfan. “Furthermore, we welcome Ann back to the Fox fold and look forward to benefiting from her broad expertise in both labor matters and employment law.”

Ms. Calfas is a graduate of Stanford Law School and was formerly associated with the Los Angeles office of Gibson Dunn & Crutcher.
