LOS ANGELES, August 4, 2010 – Fox Look, a
unit of Fox Networks Group that specializes in the international
licensing and production of unscripted programming, has named
Stephen Wong, Senior Vice President, Business Development and
Operations, and Glen Hansen, Vice President, Sales, it was
announced today by Fox Look President David Lyle, to
whom both will report.
“Fox Look is off to a great start and the additions of
Stephen Wong and Glen Hansen, along with our development
executive Noel Siegel, will strengthen our efforts around the
world,” said Lyle. “Stephen has demonstrated ingenuity and
vision across a wide spectrum of entertainment platforms, and
Glen is a tremendously experienced international entertainment
sales executive with a proven record of achievement.”
Mr. Wong will be responsible for guiding Fox Look
business operations by creating and maintaining crucial
relationships with Fox Look clients such as
international broadcasters and producers, and format creators.
He will also play an integral role in identifying and
negotiating possible production partnership deals in various
territories outside the U.S.
Prior to joining Fox Look, Mr. Wong served as a
business and legal affairs consultant for companies such as Sony
Pictures Television, International Productions; Fuse Network,
Mark Burnett Productions; Creative Contraband, Inc.; F/AME,
Inc.; and MorningStar Entertainment, Inc. In this role since
February 2009, he provided a various levels of executive
business and legal affairs expertise in the areas of
acquisitions, distribution, sponsorship, licensing, and
production services in connection with unscripted and scripted
show development, formats.
From 2005-09, Mr. Wong served in the legal department for GRB
Entertainment, beginning as a production attorney and eventually
rising to Senior Vice President of Business and Legal Affairs
and Acting General Counsel, where he oversaw all legal and
business-related matters for the company.
After receiving his Juris Doctor degree from the UCLA School of
Law in 2004, Mr. Wong served as a business transactions
associate for Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP, in Los
Angeles. He earned a bachelor’s degree from The George
Washington University and speaks fluent Mandarin Chinese and
Spanish.
Mr. Hansen will start at Fox Look on September 1, 2010
and will lead a new global sales team that will work closely
with representatives of Twentieth Century Fox Television
Distribution to license Fox Look properties. He will
oversee the sales of both formats and finished products in the
unscripted genre. Mr. Hansen also will utilize his previous
experience to provide sales projections and guide acquisition
strategy.
Mr. Hansen joins Fox Look after serving as Senior Vice
President of Sales and Programming Acquisitions for Target
Entertainment Group (UK) since 2006. Based in Santa Monica, CA,
he was responsible for all finished tape, format (non-scripted
and scripted) sales, and programming acquisition activity for
the USA (West Coast), Australia and New Zealand.
From 2001 until joining Target Entertainment Group, Mr. Hansen
served as Vice President of Sales for Granada International (UK)
and directed sales in Australia, New Zealand, Japan, and Korea.
As Vice President of Sales for ITEL (UK) from 1994-2001, he
raised co-production financing and secured finished program
sales across the U.S., Asia, Latin America, Australia and New
Zealand. Mr. Hansen began his career as a stockbroker for
Sanford C. Bernstein & Co. after earning a bachelor’s degree
from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
Mr. Wong and Mr. Hansen join an emerging executive team at Fox
Look that also includes Noel Siegel, Vice President of
Production, Development and Acquisitions. Mr. Siegel is
responsible for the acquisitions of formats and finished
products, as well as the production and development of Fox
Look’s library of formats, for licenses outside of the
United States.
Mr. Siegel originally joined Fox in 2005 as Vice President of
Production and Development for Fox Reality Channel where he
supervised all development projects and production staff, and
helped shape the network’s original programming slate that
included series such as Househusbands of Hollywood, The Academy,
Solitary, Paradise Hotel 2, Sex Decoy: Love Stings, My Bare
Lady, and Battle of the Bods.
From 2001-2004, Mr. Siegel worked in international television
distribution as Director of Production and Development at CBS
Broadcasting International/King World international Productions
where he oversaw new productions of existing formats, such as
Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy, Hollywood Squares, Top Model, and
The Vault.
Fox Look, a unit of Fox Networks Group (FNG),
specializes in the international licensing and production of
unscripted programming from Fox Broadcasting Company, Fox Cable
Networks and third party creators. Fox Look also
manages the sales of existing formats in the Twentieth Century
Fox library, including prominent shows such as “Temptation
Island,” “Beauty and the Geek,” “Big Fat Obnoxious Fiancé,” and
“Celebrity Spelling Bee.”
