Soccer Channel’s first-ever Fox Soccer Cinema telecast, Goal! The Dream
Begins, debuts Sunday, June 28 from 8-10 pm ET. This enchanting story of a
young footballer will run without commercial interruption, with a repeat at
11 pm ET the same night.

Goal! The Dream Begins follows Santiago (Kuno Becker) from the barrios of
Los Angeles to the playing fields of England. His dream, like so many
passionate about the sport, is to play football professionally. But those
dreams seem out of reach until a chance encounter with a British scout lands
Santiago a trial for the Barclays Premier League club, Newcastle United. On
foreign soil and out of his element, Santiago must prove he has the skills
and determination to reach his goal.
Goal! The Dream Begins is a production of Milkshake Films and Buena Vista
Pictures and was first released in 2005. Danny Cannon directed while Dick
Clement and Ian La Frenais wrote the screenplay. The movie also features
some of the most famous faces of the game, including David Beckham, Zinedine
Zidane, Raul and Newcastle’s own Alan Shearer.
