Sherry Brennan Elevated to Senior Vice President, Sales Strategy & Development for Fox Cable Networks

October 12, 2009– Sherry Brennan has been promoted to Senior Vice President, Sales Strategy & Development for Fox Cable Networks (FCN) it was announced today by Mike Hopkins, President, Affiliate Sales & Marketing, FCN, to whom Brennan will continue to report.

In her new role, Brennan is responsible for developing distribution strategies for FCN’s diverse group of cable networks, securing distribution agreements with alternative distribution providers and developing strategies for interactive television, mobile, and online distribution activities. She is also responsible for working closely with FCN’s business development team on new channel ideas and acquisitions.

Since 2005, Brennan has served as Vice President, Sales Strategy & Development for FCN, where she’s created strategic sales initiatives with the division’s top cable, satellite and telecommunications video distributors, and has also served as the affiliate sales liaison for CCTV International—the most prominent English-language network from China.

Before joining FCN, Brennan spent seven years with Cablevision in New York, serving as Vice President, Pay-Per-View and Enhanced Video Products, and nearly two years as Programming Consultant for the cable provider’s high-definition satellite service, VOOM. While at Cablevision, Brennan was part of the team responsible for designing and rolling out their digital cable service, iO, and was particularly involved with the development of iO’s video-on-demand programming and user interfaces. Prior to her tenure at Cablevision, she served as Director of Operations for Los Angeles’ Falcon Cable TV where she developed and implemented cross-functional projects across 45 cable systems in 29 states.

Brennan received both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in economics from Iowa State University. She serves on the Board of Directors for the Southern California chapter of Women in Cable Telecommunications (WICT) and is a member of the Betsy Magness Leadership Institute Class VI that is designed to elevate women leaders in the cable and telecommunications industry.

Fox Cable Networks (FCN) includes 36 domestic programming services in which News Corporation holds interests. Together these networks reach more than 550 million subscribing television homes and represent one of the media industry’s largest and most diverse programming groups. Fox Cable Networks span FX, National Geographic Channel, Fox Reality Channel, Fox Movie Channel, Fuel TV, FSN and 19 regional cable sports networks, SPEED, Fox Soccer Channel, Fox College Sports, Fox Sports en Espanol and the Big Ten Network (co-venture with the Big Ten Conference). FCN also includes Fox Sports Enterprises, which manages interests in sports franchises and leading statistical information provider STATS, LLC.
