New York, NY, April 20, 2010 – News Corporation today announced
that Hemanshu (Hemu) Nigam, News Corporation Chief Security Officer, will
transition to an advisory role, effective May 1, to enable him to provide
his expertise in safety, security, and privacy to more companies across the
globe.
As an advisor, Mr. Nigam will continue to work closely with and counsel News
Corporation’s Digital Media Group on Internet safety, security, and privacy
programs, including those at MySpace and across News Corporation’s broader
portfolio of Web businesses.

pioneering MySpace’s safety policy during the early days of social
networking,” said Dan Fawcett, Executive Vice President & General Counsel of
News Corporation’s Digital Media Group. “We look forward to working with him

After joining News Corporation in 2006, Mr. Nigam spearheaded leading safety
initiatives, including the adoption of Sentinel SAFE technology to protect
online communities from registered sex offenders. In his tenure, he drove
the launch of over a 150 safety, security, and privacy protection features
and programs. He played a key role in the accord between MySpace and 49
State Attorneys General to develop key principles of social networking
safety. Nigam also orchestrated efforts that resulted in 28 states and the
federal government passing email registration legislation. Recently, Mr.
Nigam has been called on by institutions from the United Nations to the U.S.
Department of Commerce to play key advisory roles.
